A roundup of the latest OE offerings from leading tire manufacturers
BMW

Ultrac
Size: 225/55 R18 102 Y XL
Vehicle: X2 and 5 Series
Notes: Vredestein’s Ultrac summer tire has been chosen by BMW as original equipment for its X2 and 5
Series models. The tire maker is also extending an existing supply agreement for the BMW X1 to encompass an additional Ultrac size option. Produced at Apollo Tyres’ Gyöngyöshalász plant in Hungary, the tire will be fitted to vehicles on BMW’s manufacturing lines at the group’s German facilities.
Hino

AH37 and DL11
Vehicle: L Series
Notes: Hankook will provide its regional AH37 and long-haul DL11 tires for Hino Trucks in the US and Canadian markets. “It is an indication of Hankook’s leadership in TBR products that our tires will be offered on Hino’s L Series models in the US and Canada,” said Haesik Lee, TB marketing director at Hankook Tire America. “Our AH37 regional-haul truck tire and DL11 regional long-haul truck tire have been built to meet the demands of the modern fleet, with durability, fuel efficiency and tread life at their core.”
Subaru

Geolandar G91
Size: 225/60R17 99H
Vehicle: Forester
Notes: The tires being supplied as OE for the new Forester were developed using specialized tuning to match their tread pattern, profile and structure to the vehicle characteristics, while also benefiting from Yokohama’s proprietary HAICoLab, an AI-based development framework.
Honda

Street ST300
Size: 60/100-17 (front) and 80/100-14 (rear)
Vehicle: Pop 110i
Notes: Vipal has extended its relationship with Honda (the CG 160 Fan is currently factory fitted with Vipal tires) with the supply of Street ST300 tires for the Brazilian market. The fitment of the tube tire (unlike the tubeless models fitted in the CG 160 Fan) is the latest phase of Vipal’s move into the OE market. “These products have already established a strong presence in the aftermarket, and gaining Honda’s endorsement further solidifies their reputation,” said Felipe Henzel, manager of Vipal Rubber’s two-wheeler business unit.
